OLEAN, NY – Olean Oilers President Matthew Fidurko announced today that the organization has hired Mike Threehouse as its head coach for the summer 2026 season.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Mike Threehouse to our Olean Oilers family. Mike checked all the boxes of what we were looking for in a head coach in our first season in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. His local ties, combined with his extensive coaching experience and player management skills will set our organization up for immediate success in the PGCBL next summer,” said Fidurko.
“I want to thank Matt Fidurko and John Dry for the opportunity to join the Oilers. Olean Oilers teams have a historic tradition in Bradner Stadium, and I am excited about being part of the current organization. Olean is my home, and I am looking forward to bringing a championship level team to the city, while giving collegiate players the best experience possible, in front of the most loyal summer baseball fans in the state,” said Threehouse.
Threehouse, an Olean native and member of the Olean High School Athletic Wall of Fame, brings a wealth of coaching and player management experience to the Oilers.
As a player, Threehouse attended Eckerd College before transferring to St. Bonaventure University, where he would break the Bonnies single-season records for batting average (.422) and slugging percentage (.725) in 1989. Those marks still rank second and third all-time for a single-season respectively.
In 1990, Threehouse would begin his coaching career, serving as an assistant baseball coach on Larry Sudbrook’s staff at St. Bonaventure, helping to lead the Bonnies to the program’s first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship Series appearance in 1994.
In 1997, Threehouse would head over to the softball world, serving as the Head Softball Coach at St. Bonaventure, a position he would hold for over 29 years until 2025. The 2006 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, Threehouse is the winningest coach in St. Bonaventure Softball history.
In 1996, Threehouse served as a Bird Dog Scout for the Tampa Bay Rays and also brings previous summer collegiate head coaching experience, serving as the head coach of the Rome Indians of the New York Collegiate Baseball League in 1996 and 1997.
Currently, Threehouse serves as the Lead Instructor of Twin Tiers Baseball Academy and the owner of Next Level Softball / Baseball Clinics.
Threehouse has been actively working with Olean Oilers staff members planning for the upcoming 2026 summer season.
